What this blog is all about

Environmentally friendly lchf

On this blog I will feature lchf recipes that are mainly plant based. Some recipes will contain e.g. eggs, but my thing is finding fuzz free vegan solutions for a low carb diet.

Most recipes will fall into the topic of weekday cooking, as I still consume meat, fish and dairy, but predominately on weekends and holidays. Many of the recipes on this blog will be quick and easy to make as they require basic ingredients and little preparation.

Every recipe will come with a net carb*, protein, dietary fiber and fat count. Vegan recipes (as opposed to dishes that are merely plant based) will be featured as their own subcategory.

*net carb content, the carbs your body can absorb and use as energy = total carb – dietary fiber (this formula is fairly accurate when it comes to home-cooked food, regarding processed food this formula needs some adjustments)

High protein vegan recipes

The vegan recipes that contain most the protein aren´t always those that contain the least amount of net carb. Although, as keeping track of protein intake is very important on a plant based/vegan diet, high protein vegan recipes will be featured on their own.

To make things easier, also the high protein vegan recipes will come with net carb, protein, dietary fiber and fat count (if you are restricting carbs more strictly, you might combine higher carb with lower carb recipes to even things out a bit).

Sustainability

Under this category I will post everyday thoughts and ideas that may make living environmentally friendly more fun. E.g., I can´t wait to write about growing houseplants from cuttings and listing the plastic products I find most unnecessary (until recent years I wasn´t even aware that a few of them are made from plastic).

I will share my thoughts on how to consume less, save money, earn a bit extra and invest savings in a way that takes the planet and its inhabitants into consideration (trying to invest sustainably is tricky, but that doesn’t make it any less fun for the non-perfectionist). On the topic of sustainability, I will also list reasons to go vegan and lchf.
